Pokémon Yellow Special Pikachu edition was especially a commercial success, selling 600,000 units in its first week and more than one million copies by the next week, becoming the fastest selling handheld game of all time when it was released. 

Most everyone who grew up playing these games remembers choosing their starter and spending hours upon hours exploring Kanto.
